Toddler Found Next To Large Amount Of Suspected Illegal Narcotics In Woodbridge: Police

A man and woman have been charged with felony child neglect after police found suspected illegal drugs next to a toddler in Woodbridge, authorities announced.

Alejandra Yvette Garcia, 21, and Elvis Samuel Paz Villatoro, 20, were arrested on Thursday, March 2 after police responded to a parking lot in the 13900 block of Richmond Highway to investigate suspected drug activity occurring in a vehicle parked in the area.

According to a spokesperson from the Prince William County Police Department, when officers arrived, they located both Garcia and Paz Villatoro, along with a 2-year-old boy inside the suspected vehicle. 

Unsecured suspected narcotics were found unsecured next to the little boy, they said, prompting officers to call for rescue personnel, who determined that the child was not injured before turning him over to family members. 

Both Paz Villatoro and Garcia have been charged with felony child neglect as well as possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. No return court date has been announced
